Why I want to be a fitness model

Being a fitness model is about much more than just keeping yourself fit and smiling for the camera while you demonstrate exercises.  Although I do love the extra motivation to stay lean and fit and what girl doesn’t love getting all dolled up for a photoshoot?  The reason I am fully committed to living this lifestyle 365 days a year is for the other definition of the word model.  I want to be a role model.  Someone that other people can look to for motivation and support and information.  I want to be someone that others wanting to get fit and healthy can look to and go “that’s how it’s done and I can do it too!”  I’ve struggled with low motivation, injuries, depression, weight gain, hectic schedules and many of the same challenges that I hear from all of you on a daily basis.  I’ve been there and I’ve won.  I’m still winning.  I don’t always win but I win more consistently now that I ever have before.  And when I don’t win I don’t let it spiral out of control.  I refocus on my goals, learn from my mistakes, forgive myself and move on.  It’s the only way to move forward.  

I’m not saying I’m perfect, far from it.  But I’ve discovered many things that work and I want to share them.  I know how awful being overweight and unfit can be and I also know the incredible joy of turning it around, learning to love myself again and getting into the best shape of my life.  The more I learn about myself and this journey the more I know I can help others along their own path.  So don’t be afraid to ask me questions.  There are no dumb questions.  I want to help in whatever way I can.
